I don't know about you, but I'm completely in love with basketball. And when the NBA season starts, it seems like everything revolves around the court.
But I can't always sit in front of the TV to watch the games. That's when I started testing out some apps on my phone to keep me up to date.
Some really surprised me. But others… not so much.
So I decided to gather here the apps that really work well for those who want to follow the NBA with quality, without having to search for random links out there.
1. NBA App (official)
If you want something straight from the source, then this is the app for you.
The official NBA app offers news, videos with highlights, real-time scores, and even live broadcasts—of course, depending on your plan and location.
It has a super smooth interface, and the content is constantly updated. Ideal for those who don't want to miss a thing.
2. DirecTV Stream
This was one of the ones I liked the most for its image quality and stability.
It's a paid service, but you can take advantage of the free trial periods to see if it's worth it.
Several games from the season are available there, with great resolution and no crashes.
Oh, and you can still watch other sports channels besides the NBA.
Good value for money for those who follow multiple sports.
3. ESPN App
The ESPN app is another great option.
It broadcasts select games, provides post-match analysis, updated statistics, and expert commentary.
The content is in English, but it's definitely worth it for those who understand the language a little.
I like to leave notifications turned on to receive alerts about decisive moves. It works really well.
4. YouTube (NBA Official)
If you don't mind watching live, the NBA's official YouTube channel is a great way to see the best moments of each game.
You can binge-watch highlights from the round, see interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and viral plays.
I use it a lot when I'm pressed for time and want to catch up quickly.
5. Sofascore and Flashscore
These two are more focused on real-time stats and scores.
If you just want to keep track of how the game is going, without necessarily watching it, these are great options.
Light, fast and super reliable.
I usually use it when I'm away from home and can't open a video.
Just a quick glance is enough to know how the game is going.
Final tip
Avoid clicking on unknown links or trying to watch games through unofficial platforms.
In addition to the risk of viruses and crashes, many of these sites violate broadcasting rights and can put your device at risk.
But the apps I've recommended here are reliable, safe, and provide the content you need to enjoy the NBA season in a practical way.
📱 All apps mentioned are compatible with Android and iOS
🚫 No invasive ads in the apps mentioned
