Discover how to watch MLB live and online. See where to watch the games, including a little-known free option.
If there's one thing that makes me forget about any of life's problems, it's sitting on the couch, grabbing some popcorn and watching a good baseball game.
Yes, I am one of those people who are passionate about MLB – and if you’re here, I bet you’re as fanatical as I am.
But it wasn't always easy to follow the games. Anyone who enjoys MLB knows very well how difficult it is to find a place to watch, especially with decent narration and good image quality.
I spent many hours of my life searching through apps, websites and channels so as not to miss any home runs, any incredible hits and, of course, those plays that make us jump off the couch.
If you are tired of looking for where to watch MLB live and online, stay with me until the end.
I'll tell you all the options I use, from the most famous streaming services to a free platform that, well... few people know about, but it works really well!
Where to watch MLB live and online in 2025
If you want to watch MLB games without any hassle, you should know that there are several platforms – some paid, others free – that broadcast games in top quality.
But, before signing anything, it's worth understanding what the best options are and whether it's really worth it for your pocket and your type of fan.
MLB.TV: the official streaming service for rooters
If you want to follow MLB live and online without missing a thing, the MLB.TV is simply the official platform of the league.
I signed for a season and honestly it's a surreal experience.
You can watch practically all the games, rewatch old matches, access real-time statistics and even choose whether you want to listen to the broadcast of the home or away team.
It may seem silly, but it makes ALL the difference in immersion.
The only negative point is that the price can be a bit scary. It's not cheap, especially for those who just want to watch a few sporadic games.
Not to mention that, depending on your location, some games may be region-locked.
But hey… if you breathe baseball, it’s worth every penny!
Star+: the most popular option in Brazil
When I started looking for where to watch MLB, I soon came across the Star+, which now broadcasts several MLB games.
The good thing is that, in addition to games, you still have access to movies, series and other sports, like NHL, NBA and even UFC. It ends up being a very complete package.
I confess that, for me, it is one of the most practical options. You can watch it on your cell phone, on your TV, on your laptop… wherever you want.
And the narration helps a lot, especially for those who are just starting to understand more about the rules and plays.
But, of course, it's a paid platform. So if the idea is to spend zero, let's go to the next topic which has a golden tip.
OneFootball: yes, MLB is free!
I know, it seems like a joke. But it's not.
THE OneFootball, that app famous for broadcasting football, started to invest heavily in other sports.
And, surprisingly, there is a broadcast of some games from MLB, Yes, totally free!
Of course, they don't cover all the games. They cover specific matches. But, man, for those who want to watch MLB live and for free, it's a great option.
I use it a lot when I'm out of the house, waiting for something or on a break at work. Just open the app, choose the game and that's it, no red tape.
And you know what's best? The image quality is very good, it doesn't freeze, and the delay is very small compared to other free streaming services out there.
ESPN on closed channels
If you're one of those people who still enjoy cable TV, ESPN is one of the official partners of MLB.
They usually broadcast the main games of the season, as well as the playoffs and, of course, the long-awaited World Series.
The good thing about ESPN is that, in addition to broadcasting on TV, you can access it through the app. Star+, so it works both online and traditional.
For me, it's that wildcard option. When I want to watch with friends, in the living room, on the big TV, I put on ESPN and that's it. Perfect stadium atmosphere at home.
Other options to watch MLB online
If you like to explore, there are a few more options that, depending on the region, may work well:
- YouTube: Some channels make authorized broadcasts or even replay complete games.
- Twitch: Believe it or not, some streamers get the rights to show games (especially Minor Leagues or pre-season).
- Sling TV, Hulu, and FuboTV: These are streaming options most used in the US, but they work with a VPN for those outside.
What about suspicious websites?
Okay, let's be real. Who has never been tempted to look for a random website to watch that game that isn't playing anywhere, right?
I've done this before and I can assure you: it's a headache for sure. In addition to the quality being terrible, the risk of getting viruses, being filled with ads or even falling for a scam is huge.
Seriously, if you're a true fan, it's worth investing in one of the options I mentioned here. Even OneFootball, which is free, will solve a good part of your life as a fan.
My favorite combination to not miss any MLB game
If you want a golden tip, write down what I do:
- Star+ to watch the main games.
- MLB.TV (when I want to binge-watch several games, especially those of my favorite teams).
- OneFootball for those moments when I'm on the street and don't want to spend data or money.
- It is clear, ESPN on TV to enjoy with friends at the barbecue on Sunday afternoon.
With this combination, I guarantee you: there is no way to miss anything from the season.
Let's experience real baseball!
If you've made it this far, it's because you love MLB as much as I do. And look... you no longer need to get lost looking for where to watch MLB live and online.
The options are there. There is something for every taste and budget – from those who want to pay for a top experience, to those who want a free, practical option that really works.
Now tell me: which of these platforms do you already use? Is there any other that I didn't mention here that is worth checking out? Let's talk in the comments!
And of course, if this article helped you, share it with that friend who is as addicted to baseball as we are. Let's spread this love for the sport!
